Progress has been a little slower than I would like during August. Material delays, family plans just didn't help.
But, everything should be back on track now and full speed ahead to finish mid Sept.

All raw exhausts have shipped. I'm still waiting on the coated outer tubes to be finsihed. But I would hope to get them back this week.

16th Batch Fabrication is complete!
All tubes that need to be coated will get dropped off tomorrow.
Raw exhausts will ship later this week.

6/30/10:

I didn't finish in the 2 weeks I was shooting for. But I'm almost there!
Inner tubes are 80% done.
Outer tubes are 90% done.

The 16th batch is moving along nicely.
Inner tubes are 60% done.

I am hoping to have everything finished up in about 2 weeks.

• 15th Batch...
  I have all of the tubes back and coated. I am planning to get everything assembled and shipped on Monday.

  The last of the materials has arrived, so fabrication can get going.

4/12/10:

• 15th Batch Fabrication is complete!...finally
  I did get all of the tubes dropped off to be coated. Any exhaust that didn't require coating will ship this week.

Progress has been good. Not quite where I wanted to be after last weekend. But I'm still chugging right along.

3/9/10:

Damn, I've got no good reason for a month lapse in updates.
But, I have made some great progress. I am hoping to finish up fabrication in the next 2 weeks or so.

2/8/10:

I have all of the materials and have made some progress on the batch.
I forget how much more work the 05 & 07 exhaust designs are to fabricate. Progress a bit slower than I would like, but I am making progress.

1/28/10:

Not much to really update. Still waiting on some of the materials.
I have got some of the parts fit and tacked, but I need the materials I don't have to move forward. Those parts should arrive very soon.

1/7/10:

15th Batch...
Now that the last spots are filled, let's get things going.
All of the material will be ordered and on it's way by the end of the week.

12/29/09:

I have no good reason why I haven't upated this in over a month!
I guess with everything going on with the holiday and a few trips out of town, it just slipped off the "to-do" list.

Anyway, the 14th batch is done and shipped.
The 15th batch will start very soon. I only have (3) spots full as of today. I would like to get (1) or (2) more spots filled before starting. I'm thinking of waiting a week or so and see if any orders come in. Then get things started.

Wow, I'm a bit embarrassed I haven't updated this for so long. I've been super busy, sick for a bit, kids..just crazy.

• Not a very good weekend for exhaust fab. I had a few other projects to finish up. Between those and other stuff around my house, the weekend was over before I knew it. I am hoping this won't happen again.
• Some good news....All of the materials are here! Received the last of it on Friday.

5/28/09:

Well, everything is finished up for the 11th batch. All exhausts that should ship, have shipped or will ship today.

  All materials are on order. I am expecting them to get here next week.
  I will be putting a little more into this batch. I know some of you have been waiting for a while. The set backs I had during the 11th batch sure didn't help. But I hope everything.....nope, don't want to ginx this batch! Let's just see how things go.

5/18/09:

Sorry about missing the update last week. I've had a few personal things come up that have affected exhaust fabrication.
But, I have plans to work as much as possible this week and over the long weekend. I'm planning to ship everything on 5/26.

5/4/09:

• 03's:
  Inner tubes are 95% done.
  Outer tubes are 95% done.
  
• 07's:
  Inner tubes are about 65% done.
  Outer tubes are about 95% done.
  

Normally I try to keep all the exhaust in a batch even in progress. But for this batch, I made a small break in that. There are only (2) exhausts being coated. I thought I'd get those (2) done and get the outer tubes sent to be coated. Then while they are there, I can finish the other exhausts. I think this will decrease the last bit of the wait for this batch.
I would hope to get those tubes back late next week. But we will just have to see how that goes.
I am hoping this next weekend will be another good one for the remaining exhausts. If all goes well, I should be able to finish the un-coated exhausts and get them shipped sometime next week. I'll be keeping my fingers crossed I can make that happen.

4/27/09:

  Outer tubes are 90% done.

  Inner tubes are about 50% done. The last bit of progress on these seems to take the longest.

• All the perforated material is done and ready to go. It just needs to have the end plates welded on.
• The 07 inner tube elbows are done. Some of the other sections are cut, they just need to be fit.

Here's where things are...
• 03's:
  Inner tubes are 100% done.
  Outer tubes are 95% done.
  These just need the logos put on. That should happen tonight or tomorrow night. Then they will be off to the ceramic coaters.
• 05/07's
  Inner tubes are about 40% done.
  Outer tubes are about 75% done.
  I didn't get the outer tube jig done for this set, like I wanted. But everthing will work out fine, like they have in the past.
  These outer tubes aren't coated, so I should get everything done this week and have them ready to ship on Monday 3/9.

Next weeks' update will probably be on Thursday or Friday. I'll be out of town from Monday (2/23) thru Wednesday (2/25) for my day job. I'm going to the SME trade show in Denver. So, I may not be responding to emails as quickly as usual during those days.

2/13/09:

Oh crap! It's Friday already, this week has gone by so fast. But here is the update:

• All of the perforated is cut, rolled and seamed.
• The small elbows, for the inner tubes, in the 03's have been cut, and expanded.
• The inner tubes for the 05 and 07 are started. I'd say about 10% done.
  Check for more updates on Monday! Well, I will try to be better about updating on Monday.

• The perforated material is cut and rolled.
• I have a few of the small elbows for the 05 & 07 exhausts fit and tacked.

12/30/08:

Another quick update this week...

• All of the 03 parts are now ready for final fit and weld.
• The 07 outer tubes are 100% done. The inner tubes are about 50% done.

It's still looking good to get everything off to be coated by the 5th!!

Those orders that are not marked as "Paid in Full," now is the best time to make final payment. If you can pay now, there will be no delays in shipping your exhausts when they get back from being coated. If you need to know your remaining balance, just email me.

12/22/08:

• The 07 outer tubes are about 85% done. The inner tubes are about 25% done.

Things are still looking good to finish fab and get the outer tubes off to the be ceramic coated by Jan. 5th!

12/17/08:

9th Batch...it's all about you guys now...

• I was able to get all of the perforated material cut, rolled, and seamed. They are all also welded to the end rings and ready to go.
I wasn't able to get much more done, had to take care of a few things around the house. But the next two or three weeks look very good to be able to put a lot of time on these.

• Normally, I don't like to estimate a finishing time this early in the batch, but I feel like I can do that for this one. Mostly because I have that much time available.....I am shooting for Jan. 5th to ship the outer tubes to be ceramic coated! There is a possibility they could ship sooner!

12/8/08:

8th Batch...

• Final Assembly of the last few exhausts is now complete! Check your emails for tracking information.

9th Batch...
I have received the last of the materials.
Got a few little things done over the weekend. But not too much.
I do have a long weekend coming up, so I can get a lot more done.

12/3/08:

• I just got off the phone with the ceramic coaters in Arizona, the tubes are done! They are shipping back to me today via. FedEx, so I should have them by Friday. If it does work out like that, I will have all of the remaining exhausts ready to ship on Monday!

9th Batch...

• The last of the tubing arrived yesterday afternoon!

Looks like a busy weekend ahead for me!

8th Batch...

• Not much to update. Outer tubes are still at the ceramic coaters. I'm crossing my fingers I'll have them by the end of the week.

9th Batch...

• I have received some of the tubing material. I hope to have the rest of it in the next day or two. I have also received the perforated plate.
• The order from the waterjet shop should be here in the next day or two also.
• I was able to get the 07 outer tubes to 95% complete over the long weekend. I wasn't able to do much more without the other tubing.

11/24/08:

8th Batch...

• The outer tubes are at the ceramic coaters right now. I am still hoping to get them back next week.
• The Brushed exhausts shipped last week.

9th Batch...

• Tubing has been ordered. I have been told I'll have it by Wednesday before the long weekend. That means I could have most of it ready to go a lot sooner than I thought.
• Perforated materail has been ordered. I'm not sure I'll have that this week or not.
• Still no responce to my RFQ for the end rings and misc parts from the waterjet shop.

11/17/08:

WTF ceramic coaters?? They closed the local plant!! I went out there to drop off the outer tubes after work on Friday, like I had planned. But when I got out there, there wasn't even a sign saying they had closed! You would think my local sales rep, that I have been working with, would give me a heads up on this! Guess not. Oh well.
I made a call this morning, I have to ship the tubes to Arizona. Wha!?!?!? Damnit, that changes a few things. I will try to get them to UPS today to get them there my Wednesday or Thursday this week. When I talked to my new rep, he told me 5-7 days once they receive them. So, they might have them done before the Turkey day holiday. Then return shipping puts them back to me the week of 12/1 thru 12/5.
Another unforseen delay for this batch! Guys I can't say sorry enough!!

Looks like I will be trying to find other places around town to get these coated. Or possibly bring it in house and see what I can do. I did find some high temp powder coating systems that you can do in a small scale, without the huge ovens. Looks like I'll be researching this very soon!

11/14/08:

• Great news.....Outer tubes are going to the ceramic coaters today!
• I do have a few things to finish up on the inner tubes, but I don't need the outer tubes for any of it. So, they will be dropped off today. I am hoping to get them back sometime next week. They always tell me 7-10 days. But I've had some get finished in a little as 3 or 4 days.
• Brushed finished exhaust will ship on Monday, 11/17/08. I will email tracking information as soon as I get it.

9th Batch...
RFQ's for the materials have been sent. As soon as I get them back, I will get the materials coming!

11/10/08:

Ok, here's where things are now...

• The outer tubes are still at 100%.
• The inner tubes are about 90% done. Now it's kinda tricky to put a progress on all of them, becuase now all that's left is final fit and weld for some of them.
• I have 2 of the exhaust done. The others have all of the parts done just waiting for final fit and weld.
• I am planning to get the outer tubes to the ceramic coaters by Friday. Pending any major hick-ups along the way.
• The Brushed finished exhausts could ship this week. Depending on how things go. If not, they will ship next Monday (11/17).

9th Batch! Yup, 9th batch news already...
Here's where the new ordering system really shows how it works...
Since the batch has enough people in it, and with payments already done...
I can order all of the materails this week. So, I should have everything in hand by the time I get the 8th batch shipped. That means the time between batches will be shorter than ever!

11/4/08:

Another productive week. Here's where things are...

• The outer tubes are 100%.
• The inner tubes are about 80% done. The last 30-35% of the work seems to take the longest. Everything must fit just right.

I am hoping be done after this next weekend. Then the outer tubes can go out to be coated and things can get finished up.

10/27/08:

Ok, I thought this weekend was very productive. Here's about where they stand...

• The outer tubes are now 100% done. Just sitting waiting for the inner tubes and final assembly.
• The inner tubes are probably close to 60% done now.

I am glad I did order a second roll of wire. Waiting almost 3 weeks sucks!
But I will admit I do learn something new with every batch. This batch....keep a back-up roll of weld wire!

10/22/08:

Ok, weld wire in hand! Finally!
I did try to get a few more things fit up that past weekend. But there just wasn't much I could do without the weld wire.
Now that I have the wire I will be working as much as possible to get these done as quick as possible.

10/16/08:

Doh! Forgot to update on Monday.

I was able to use some other, bigger diameter, wire to get a few more of the inner tubes fit up. But I don't want to weld them up with the bigger wire. I've had greater success with the smaller wire.
I am sorry for this delay! It's just a bit of bad planning on my part. I will admit it. When I first purchased the smaller wire, I got the smallest roll to try it out. It worked so well I went and forgot to order a bigger roll right away. Then not thinking about it, I just kept working. Not realizing I was that close to running out.
I just got off the phone with AirGas. They tell me it should be there later tonight or tomorrow. They need to check in the order...blah, blah. I will be calling them tomorrow afternoon to see what is going on. But if they don't get it, I don't get it, and I'm stuck. There are other places in town to get weld wire, but they don't stock the small diameter stainless wire I'm after. Plus they are almost twice as expensive.

Anyway...

• The outer tubes are still at 95% done. Can't do any more on those until I get the inner tubes done and put it together for the final fit and weld.
• The inner tubes are probably close to 45% done now.

10/6/08:

I didn't get a new saw. I just took the old one apart and cleaned up the contacts on the motor. What do you know, it works fine now.
Then I run into another problem yesterday.....ran out of weld wire! I didn't realize just how much gets tacked and fit.
But I was able to get all the perforated cut and welded.
I am sorry about the lack or progress this weekend!! I will be getting 2 rolls of wire this week. I don't want to run out again.

9/29/08:

Sorry for not updating last week! I've got a huge project I'm working on, for my day job, and it's not allowing me time to do this stuff during the day.

Anyway....

• The outer tubes are 95% done.
• The inner tubes are about 30% done.
  I would have been able to get more done this past weekend. But, my saw decided to crap out on me. Half way thru the first cut of the day, and it just stopped. Needless to say, I will be getting a new saw in the next day or two.

9/16/08:

This past weekend was kind of a bust for working on these. I had to attend a training meeting, for my day job, all day Friday and Saturday.

But.....

• I have received the last of the materials. Even the stuff from the waterjet shop.
• I have ordered the misc. small parts. Those should be here by the end of this week.
• I will get a start fabricating this week and, hopefully, a good portion this weekend.
  I'm not ready to guess-timate at a completion date, for this batch, just yet. Let's see how the next two weeks go.

9/5/08:

• Well, just after I closed that last spot, I got a responce to take it. So, I guess I'll open it back up. This way, it's one less name on the waiting list. So, it should help get thru that list quicker.


• I have ordered the tubing and the perforated plate material. I would think I should get this stuff next week.
• I need to check my stock for the misc. parts. I will get that stuff ordered early next week.
• I have also sent the RFQ to the waterjet shop for those parts. I hope to get that back very soon.

• I have had a few spots open up for different reasons in this batch. I have offered the spots to many people on the waiting list. Only some have responded. I can't keep trying, I need to get this batch going. So, I have closed the last spot!
• All 4 of the spots have money on them. So, that means I can order materials over the next few days. I would think I could have all the materials to me by sometime next week.


• I really don't want to close that last spot. But I can't wait any longer.
• I am in the process of re-thinking my waiting list policy. Possibly making a partial deposit required BEFORE you will be added.
